bartops

Mike,
I agree, I've never seen pennies at a bartop in Vegas, Reno, Tahoe or
anywhere else for that matter. At first, I thought it had $1 twice. Then I saw it was
freaken pennies. What could they have possibly been thinking to put in
pennies?

Joel,

Just want to acknowledge my agreement with your comments regarding
the penny bartops at MS. I have always been a fan of bartops and
personally not aware of any bartop penny games in either Vegas or
Atlantic City. I think it is ridiculas and I will pass on similar
objections to my host.

I was at MS this morning and noticed two guys playing two of the $5 pickems
at the same time. Best of luck to them but I know that MS has a $10 machine.
Assuming that the machine was available I was wondering why play two $5 if
you can play a single $10? For that matter, is there any reason to play two
$1 over playing a single $2?

Any volatility differences or just a matter of preference?

Jack,
My two cents,
In theory, you can increase your hands/hour by 50%. So, 600 hands/hr
to 900 hands/hr. Gets you closer to "the long run" of almost breaking
even - 50% faster. Of course, you WILL make more mistakes so in the
long run you WILL lose more money.
If bankroll permits, its better to play the $10 machine 33% slower
(450 hands/hour). The EV (over the long run) is the same (negative);
you WILL make less mistakes; and lose less money.
