bartops

I just sent the following note to my host and will post the reply if I
receive one.

Hi Laura,
I wanted to send you my feedback on recent changes to the bar top machines at
MS. Recently, the bar tops were modified to multi denom and now accept .01,
.05. 25 and $1. It has now become almost impossible to get a seat.
Additionally, the fellow sitting next to me playing pennies definitely drank more then he
could have lost. I'm not sure what the reason / business logic there was to
install pennies in the bar tops.

A more appropriate and probably profitable choice might have been .25, .5 $1,
and $2.

Thanks
Joel

Just got back from MS and all the bartops have been changed since
our last visit two weeks ago except for the cabaret bar. They are
now .01, .05 .25 and $1 denomination. The machines were tied up with
penny and nickel playsers and getting a seat was really difficult.
The cabaret bar will soon undergo these changes also. There are no
more 10 coin $1 JOB at the bartops. At the race bar I sat for 3
hours playing dollars and the guy next to me sat there as long
playing .01 and .05. He must have had 9 beers and tiped the
bartender $1. I spoke to the bartenders we know and they said they
are getting killed by this. Their tips are down 40%. Both my wife
and I complained to all the hosts we could find and hopefully the
more people who do that will help change the situation.

Joel,

Just want to acknowledge my agreement with your comments regarding
the penny bartops at MS. I have always been a fan of bartops and
personally not aware of any bartop penny games in either Vegas or
Atlantic City. I think it is ridiculas and I will pass on similar
objections to my host.
