Barona's bad mkt'g stuff

I don't think I'll be driving up the precarious winding road any
longer.

1. They sent me a promotional coupon during Asian NewYr activities,
advertising a 'free' $25 for new member signups, along with $25 for
the one bringing in the new member.

Coupon for the newbie is a '25 promo' chip, that is a ONE TIME
win or lose bet, vs. the type of non-negotiable chips I've used
before (like at Sahara).
Of course, my friend loses the bet and is p---D.

1.a. The usual disclaimer in FINE PRINT can change to chips or cash
for me. I also am issued the 25 chip. Worthless as I lose the prop
bet as well.

2. Poker Room comps are SEPARATE from the slot club account.
ONLY Casino in the county that does this.
It is a 'DON-T ASK-WON't Tell' system.
And don't try figuring it out.
When you go in the 'red', you have to play many hours before
you can get comp'd meals there.

They supposedly pay $1/hourly (like Palms in LV), except you really
don't know. If the stoopid desk people clock you in/out incorrectly,
your hours are lost.

Try SYCUAN and VIEJAS - much better run poker rooms imho.
comps only .50c/hourly, but at least you KNOW what your balance is at
any time.
*Bonus - Sycuan players can eat in the poker room and SAVE 25% off
their already great prices! (Coffee shop style menu, with good
Chinese and Mexican cuisine).

3. WildCat Canyon road - until widened, is always possible to be
CLOSED due to idiotic accident.
If so, you either:
a. Wait 3 hours until sheriff/fire dept does their work.
b. Turn around, and drive 45 min./30+ miles the long way around via
Ramona......... Very inconvenient.
Also - a 10% chance that the North road in will be closed as well!
Then you can not even drive in. And if you're there already,
you may not be able to LEAVE when you want to.

Off Soapbox.
Any other questions?

In addition to being INCREDIBLY annoyed with S-L-O-W drivers along "Wildcat" Canyon Rd., I will not ever go back to Barona until the auto-hold feature is turned off the VP Machines. It is no fun to just hit "deal deal deal deal deal" over and over again. I can play slots anywhere else just like that.

There needs to be signs on Wildcat Canyon Rd which say, "Slow drivers, yes you!, are required to use pullout when they are travelling at 25mph, slamming on the brake before any curve in the road, and holding up more than 30 cars!

Viejas is definitely the best casino for off-freeway access. Now why they created a new stairway at the West Entrance only big enough for one direction of pedestrian traffic at a time boggles me!
