Barona

Hi, I can use some help or a refresher. I'd like to do the Barona new
sign up promotion and recall sometime back somebody suggested a good
strategy. I just can't remember the details or where I read it. Also
searched archives and can't find it in this forum or VP Free. Can
someone tell me where to find the message or refresh me on the strategy
to get best value? That incudes $200 doubled for win or reimbursed
for a loss after 2 hours play. Thanks in advance. Louise in L.A.

In Message 282 I gave a strategy for the $100 San Diego County version
of the offer, but should work about the same for the $200 offer. If
you can't find that message, email me, and I will email you a copy.

Thanks Jim, Yes, that is the message I remember. So it sounds lke the
promotion is the same except now the amount to double/recoup is $200
instead of $100. Sounds like it may be worth making the drive from Los
Angeles. Did I understand correctly that they'd pay you on the spot,
no extra trip to collect?

Louise: One flaw in the strategy is that you might have to risk more
than 100 or 200 whatever the amt of promo is. To get the required 2
hrs play you might lose that amt and even more on nickels at a poor
pay schedule...I guess you should play slowly... and as conservative
a game as you can find..JOB etc...the strategy of switching to
dollars at the end may or may not be advised depending on if you are
ahead or behind and how much...

Hey beachstu, I was also thinking why not play the $1 stuff up front - find out if you are a winner or loser right away and then move down in demon., play slowly. Otherwise I don't know how much time you should plan to give at the end for the bigger denom. Another thought - if I play very conservatively I may not get much in the way of future offers, but do I care? Probably not. Louise

Louise..200 is 40 hands of dollar. So you can play that easily at the
end of the time. You may not have any money left if you start with 200
and play nickels or quarters to play the higher denomination and try to
hit a 4OAK or Royal on their money and maximize your win..If say you
are behind 150 after an hr and 3/4 then you only have 50 or ten hands
of dollar to try to hit on....so you would play it at the end.

As to offers you can always play like normal once you have done the
promo if you want to get a high coin in...also remember their auto
holds are on, I find it very hard to play with those on..you can get a
tech to turn them off in high limit area somebody posted, but no
gaurantee on that.

Yep, your right. Slow then take a leap at the end if you have anything to leap with. Louise

Sorry should have looked up the whole thread...looks like VP counts
with no problem. and from the data base looks like they have some
decent VP also! the drive doesn't look very fun though!

I agree, the drive looks like a bear. That's probably why the offer such a promotion. Are you coming from the LA area too? Louise

As a local, I can testify that the road is STILL under construction (to be widened). In the meantime, they do post 'sheriffs' at the bottom of the 'hill', at 4-way stop sign, to monitor traffic and keep it flowing during M-F (4-6?pm) rushhour. It's about 6 miles of slightly uphill, winding road.
SPEED LIMIT is 35 mph for about 2-3 mile stretch, where the cement barriers are (for construction workers). It's about 4 miles of upgrade, slope.
Coming DOWNHILL, you need to watch your speeds.......

We live in Cypress. North OC and went the 405/5/78/15 Scripps Poway
Ranch Road. The roads are really no different than going to Harrahs
Rincon off the 76....its just soooooooooooo far off the freeway. Its
a nice casino and we did the $200 double cover thing and both my
husband and I took full advantage of this and played over 2 hours and
exactly $200. Good thing they were covering us as neither one of us
won a thing!!!!!!!
I won't be rushing back there any time soon as it was just too far
for us.....might as well drive to Vegas :O)
we went on to Valley View and used the moreplay coupons we had....boy
that place was packed on a friday evening....it was very difficult to
get a machine! They have a sign showing the new casino will be open in
61 days. Don't think we will go back there until then!
we kept going and spent the night and donated to the Harrahs Rincon
indian next and the Pala indians on the way home!
I did my part to keep the CA indians rolling in the dough
