Barona Lowers Payout on $1 Deuces

Until recently, the $1 machines at Barona (Lakeside, CA) were NSUD
(25/16/10/4/4), paying 99.73%. I was out there today, and found them
to have been changed to 25/16/9/4/4/, paying 99.23%. These are the
machines that are Deuces Wild (and bonus deuces) only, near the
self-service beverage station.

The $1 machines with the Barona logo seem to have been changed to
25/15/9/4/4/, paying 98.91%. This is the same as the 25-cent Barona
logo machines near the coat check entrance

I received an email from a regular poster who was at Barona
Saturday. He says, "The 7 upright DW machines have been
restored to NSU. In addition, there are 9 flat top machines
with the Barona Logo near the firepit area, also (now, again)
NSU. All are $1/2/5 single line."

Very interesting. Maybe Bob Dancer (who has recently been engaged by Barona to promote its VP) gave them a call and said, "What gives? You're making me look bad!".

I was at Viejas recently, but not Barona, and I'm heading to Vegas this week, to South Point. I probably won't get back to Barona until around Xmas, if I see anything interesting I'll post it.

Bob Dancer's endorsement is only a decision he reaches as of a
specific time. And I condider his opinion only one of many factors in
my decision of where to play. He isn't responsible if I drive the
extra hour out to Lakeside to try my luck.

I'm not sure it's fair to hold Mr. Dancer responsible if any casino
changes paytables. After all, if a restaurant gets a great review in
the newspaper and then fires the chef it isn't the newspaper's fault.

But since a "fee" was involved I expect the casino to at least
maintain good availability of full-pay VP that is competitive in the
area. The last thing Barona needs (or Bob Dancer, for that matter) is
database reports to the contrary. Barona will lose us (knowledgeable
players) and Bob loses credibility. So, let's see what happens over
time. Won't ever be worse than Rincon, that's for sure.
