That is definitely a bargain! This may well be the best time in years, dollar wise, to visit Las Vegas. There was a story on the LV evening news last week about the many bargains available. One person they interviewed said they stayed a full week at Circus Circus for $89. And Palace Station is booking rooms for less than $20 a night. Another casino/hotel, and I didn't catch the name, is offering stays for $150 but you get a rebate of $125 later. Also mentioned was that Binions has shuttered their hotel entirely. And I read the Wild Wild West is now a Days Inn, and the Sahara has closed two of their three hotel towers.

I agree, going out from Jan 3-11 for CES and vacation. Staying downtown 8 nights for under $100 total.

Looking for mid February---Thanks

I don't like to answer travel questions, because the same question comes up every week or two, and it gets annoying to give the same answer over and over...but here's my (one time only) 2c on this.
I find Dollar best for Vegas with Alamo close behind. My car being garaged at the Home Offices in the Bay Area, I needed a rental for CES weekend, forgot to book it...whoops! Expecting to being gouged, I fired up my laptop at the RAC Center and found, last second, a $15/day rate from Dollar. $102 net for four days.
Alamo has competitive offers weekends as well. Check alamo.com for details.
Dealing with Alamo, you may have to plug in several contract ID#s before you get a "hit". There are also add-ons like one car comp class upgrades, discounts, etc. For last minute, try contract ID # IG.
For RNO, it's a pick'em between Dollar and Alamo, depends which weekend, and who is paying. If I can get a casino to pick up the bill, it will be Alamo, with a Southwest RR multiplier contract ID. Otherwise, it's the offer which makes the most sense.
Even if you only use their frequent renter services (Dollar Express/Quicksilver) a couple of times a year, I recommend you sign up for them. It just makes things much quicker to get to your final destination. Also, you get some pretty sweet deals with QS that are available only to QS members.
Other companies, particularly Avis and Hertz (dba Wheelz at LAS) frequently offer rates competitive with Dollar and Alamo, but I usually don't look at their rates.
Flyertalk is helpful for other airports, especially a couple where it's tough to get a decent rate-but not really that helpful. Also, I love the questions from FT members..."will I get burned if I use this special Earlobe MT Chamber of Commerce contract ID? Will they ask me for supporting documentation?" But specifically for Vegas, not so helpful.
Thanks !!
Bob
