Barbary Coast Video Poker Tourney?

I will be in Las Vegas July 15 through 20 enjoying two, back-to-back
video poker tournaments. The first will be at Main Street Station and
the second at Barbary Coast. The Barbary Coast tourney is unique
because they will not be counting points for a royal flush. The game
will be double double bonus. Can anyone suggest an easy tournament
strategy for DDB minus the royal?

Go for quads, quads, quads, as fast as you can bang the buttons. Try
to save kickers. That would be my "easy tournament strategy." It's
most likely not a very accurate one, but VP tournaments seem to be won
by the speed demons (depending on the structure).

I've never heard of a tournament that disregards royals before.
Usually, if you can hit just one you end up in the money. That should
be a good equalizer.

Good luck, and let us know how you did!!

I will be attending the tournament at the Barbary
Coast as well. From the brochure, it looks like that
any royal flushes do not count for points, but are
awarded a cash prize. How much is not stated.
