Bankroll Considerations

I'm sure this might have been discussed before, but since I truly am new at VP and on this list (only a few months now), I thought I'd pose the question and perhaps initiate a good discussion.

My question/topic is; What are your bankroll considerations? What do you base your bankroll on? The game? The RF cycle? A standard VP bankroll formula?

When I say bankroll, I'm not talking about a session or a trip bankroll, but a total playing bankroll. I'm am a poker player first, and I have a set poker bankroll that I keep away from all other finances. This money is used only for poker, and nothing else. In poker, the "standard" (and I use that term loosely, as there are many opinions about this in the poker world) is between 300 and 400 big bets (a "big bet" is the upper end of the limit you're playing. for example, if I play $15/$30, my big bet is $30.)

In online play, I like to have 300 big bets on the site for my bankroll. Online, I play smaller limits, like $3/$6. So, I like to keep at least $1,800 on the site at any given time. that's my poker bankroll for that particular game.

Now, for VP, I've heard it said that a common bankroll is 3-5 royals. However, I don't understand the math behind this calculation. I know the swings can be great in VP (as they can be in poker at times), but is this figure accurate when taking the variance into consideration?

Any insight into this would be most helpful.

Was it good, bad, or indifferent? How did my suggestion stack up to the

still found nothing about bankroll considerations.
I found the cost per hour etc. but didn't see anything about bankroll???

Nudge is referring to the Links Directory on the left side of the
vpFREE Home Page, while Scott is referring to "vpFREE Links"
in the center of the home page.

When I created "vpFREE Links", the Yahoo Directory on the left
side of home pages had a different name. They subsequently
changed the name of the directory to "Links".

Don't think I can get Yahoo to change it back, and I don't want
to change the name of "vpFREE Links".

Yep , that'll do it !!!

Few more hints:

1- The "vpFree Links" is so in your face that it's the first thing you'd
click on.

2- If you are reading your email from something other than Yahoo (i.e.
outlook), and you click on the URL that nudge is referring to, the "links"
on the left side isn't available. You have to first log into Yahoo to make
the "links" available.

All this adds up to difficulties in finding this awesome material being
provided !!!

I was hoping, no counting on, this confusion when I made my original
response to Scott's question. I don't want to get into nitpicking here,
although next to deuces and blackjack, that is something else that I am most
proficient at. If you read the original post I said that my hint was Think
Links, not vpFREE Links, that splashes into the browser in bright
RED.Because of the larger font and color, I was quite sure that there would
be many that clicked here first, which was perfect because, as I stated in
the post I felt that there was a high percentage of our members that had
never totally explored the site. If I were a betting man (wait, I live in
Vegas, of course I am) I would wager that quite a few of our members clicked
and explored the site for the very first time. I would also bet that there
were people, whose reaction was, "Gee, I didn't know that". Because of a
natural human ego constraint, I don't think any of them will admit this here
in print. Even if I only stimulated a few of our 2,066 members to let their
mouse do the walking, I think that I accomplished my goal. Hey, I am as lazy
as the next person. In my spare time, I have actually been known to practice
loitering. Those of you who have not checked out the site, give it a go. You
just might discover some additional resources about the hobby that caused
you to join the group in the first place.
