Ballys/Paris Vs. Planet Hollywood

We are getting ready for our annual trip to Las Vegas. We are Platinum
Card holders with Harrahs and are staying at Ballys on a 5 night room
comp. I am pretty disappointed in the VP available at all of the
Harrahs properties and am looking to switch our play to another hotel.
We like to stay on the strip and I want to play somewhere that will
continue to send us free room offers.
I would appreciate any comments on how much play it takes to generate
room offers from Planet Hollywood. They appear to have a higher cash
back % and more 8/5 BP (I hate the fact that I can't play .25/.50 9/6
jacks and get decent strip offers anymore). I'm starting to think it
might be more feasible to play live poker and just pay cash for room
and food.
Any other thoughts on where to stay and play are appreciated.

There is no easy answer. You have to decide what your priorities are.
If you want good comps, and good video poker, and nice rooms, and be on the strip, you better be a
$ and up player.

If you want to play quarter and 50 cent machines you are going to have to compromise on something.

If you are willing to give up the fancy rooms, you could stay somewhere like Circus Circus.

If you are willing to give up the comps you can stay at the Palms (slightly off strip).

If you are willing to give up the strip then you can go Downtown or off Strip.

If you are willing to give up the good VP you still have Ballys/Paris.

As long as Paris continues to carry 8/5 Bonus Poker, it may be the closest thing to what you want.

If you are going to pay cash for rooms and food (shudder), why go all the way to Vegas?

Regards
A.P.
