Ballys Atlantic City

I visit the East coast once or twice a year, and generally spend a day at Ballys with my mother, including a few hours at the dollar progressive Jacks-or-Better machines. Today was my first Royal on them. It was -- by a hair -- the biggest gambling moment of my life, since I've only hit a few dollar Royals, none of them progressive.

Most of the machines at Ballys now have a screen (the same one where it shows your point accumulation) where you can order a specific drink. Pretty cool technology; it has lots of choices, from coffee to tequila.

I had gotten coupons to avoid the new $10 charge for the diamond lounge. It's got a great view, nice decor, comfy chairs and all. But the food is still nothing special. I really didn't see any change in the buffet compared to when it was free.

It's been a few years since I've been a Diamond member. What is the $10
charge?

a $10 entry fee was introduced a couple of weeks ago for diamond members under 25K who wish to visit the diamond lounges in CZR's atlantic city properties. diamonds with tier score over 25K (last year or this year) continue to get in free, as do seven stars members.

supposedly, the charge brings with it improved food choices and top shelf liquors.

but many people report that hasn't been that case.

It just started a couple week's ago. If your a diamond player, they charge 10 bucks in comp's to use the lounge. Player's who made 25,000 points last year or this year are still free.
It's a little better then before. They pass out plates of fresh shrimp now, and the food is a little better.
