Bally's and Resorts Tunica casinos to be sold for $44 million

Penn National (Hollywood) is buying both of them

What difference does it make ? They are bankrupt companies and with current gambling polices in tunica they will stay that way You don’t attract gamblers by cutting comps cash back free-play. Etc. video poker pay tables are some of worse in country. There is also something going on with the machines. I play at 99.8 level on vp. When you run 200 dollars bi-weekly you would expect an occasional quad. On a 25 cent machine. This went on for weeks. I live 30 miles away and have gone once the past year. Just save money I lose here and go to Vegas and have a good time there I bring even or come back a winner. I am not the only person locally who feel this way. No gambler I know goes to tunica anymore. I know the RNG regulates the payback but? Revenues at tunica casino’s are down another 10% this year. Unless they return to paytables and comp. system from a few years back I feel tunica is doomed.

That is true, I’m an investor in GLPI, that’s how I found about the sale.

Those are all valid reasons not to go to Tunica but there are more. Put
lousy service at the top of the list. I am used to casinos treating me with
respect and appreciation, not distain and contempt. We have experienced
blatant racial discrimination by several casino employees. Not the
management and casino hosts, they try their best, but by the low level
employees – servers, boothlings, etc. The ones everyone comes into contact
with every day. In other cases they were just too lazy to do their job.
Who needs that crap?

Being spread out doesn’t help either. The shuttle bus discontinued service
years ago so the only way to get from one casino to another is drive your
car. Or in our case, a motorhome. Throw in lousy VP and semi-lousy food
with nothing else to do and that pretty much killed it for us.

I agree with you, I think Tunica is on the way out.
