Just returned from Vegas on Ted (United). At 5AM Sun morn the airport
was packed. I always fly out of Vegas on redeye. This is first
morning flight I have taken in years. When they say go to airport
hour and a half early; last Sunday I needed almost every minute. I
was shocked. After a long wait I weighed my bags in. One bag over 6
lbs. I could have opened the over weight bag and took a books and
papers folder from the bag. The folder was loaded with stuff from a
trade show and I could have taken with me as a carry on. I wasn't
thinking. I got zinged for a $25.00 over weight charge. This evening
I talked to a US Airways rep and she indicated the weight limits are
50 lbs per bag; down from 70 lbs before. I would guess Ted has done
the same.
Just thought I'd pass on. Might save some of you 25 bucks.
