Speaking of free play downgrades, I want to pass along what I think is the
worst idea ever from a casino marketing department.
At the Red Lion Casino up here in good 'ol Elko, I was at the "$20/week
free play plus two extra $20 days each month" level. But, starting this
month, they've adopted what they call the "Free Play every day" approach, which
means I get $5 on a Monday or Tuesday, another $5 on Wednesday or Thursday,
another $5 on Friday or Saturday, and $5 on Sunday. And, of course, the
free play does not accumulate.
I hate to tell them this, but $5 isn't enough to make it worth the trip
across town two or three extra times a week. If it wasn't for the .25 Pick
'Em, I'd stop going there altogether.
