Maybe yes, maybe no. I certainly understand the perspective of saying "this
was a big mistake, one no one should make and perhaps it should be a learning
opportunity." I am empathic to the young man but still shocked at the
carelessness of just putting all that money into a bag and not keeping the
bag in one's lap or (as I do with a purse) looped around one's leg.
And I think it is reasonable to wonder if this is an entirely true story.
My mind is not yet made up as to whether I will contribute to this "cause,"
as much as I am sympathetic. No one yet has contributed to helping me out of
the various fixes I've gotten myself into over the years.
