Bad changes at Cannery

Cannery implemented their slot club changes today. Video poker
now earns 2 points per $1 bet, up from the previous 1 point per $1
bet. The bad news is that many of their promotions now require MORE
than double the previous point amounts. Examples. Today they were
awarding a mystery cash envelope. Old rules had said 249 points would
earn one envelope. Todays updated rules made the requirement 649
points. Previously the Friday $10 Free Play and free buffet promotion
required 700 points. Starting tomorrow, the requirement is 1750 points.

Perhaps the Cannery is going to blame the high gas prices for the
increase in the amount of points needed to claim any give away!

All in all, I'm pleasantly surprised that the changes were so minimal.
Usually when casinos bring in a brand new slot club they
simultaniously gut their player benefits. The VP points double and
their value goes down by half. The return on slots actually went up.
Most of the
play for goodies promotions are still very good even though the total
coin in did go up. Since they have been giving lots of "bonus"
bounce back cash awards lately, I'm very happy with them even though I
have to drive a long way to get there. The high flyer bonuses are
very good.

High Flyer status was 75k coin in over 3 months, with new system that
drops to only 62.5k coin in. So, not all changes were bad. TomSki
