Back-to-back hits

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I have hit quads on back-to-back hands a number of times over the years, but Friday at Harrah's AC we were stunned by what happened to us.
While Hedy watched, I was playing our usual game of choice, $1 DDB, when I hit quad sevens about 20 minutes into the session. About 10 minutes, later I held a pair of fours and up popped the other two and a three for an $800 hit. I had been playing for awhile so I got up and let Hedy take over.
On the very next hand, she was DEALT four aces and a deuce! It was the second time that day that we had hit aces and a kicker for 2K (I held one ace and the other three and a four filled in earlier) but this one was a real shocker coming right on the heels of the other bonus quad and kicker.
We have two friends who have hit back-to-back royals but this was by far the best consecutive hit we've ever made.
Does anyone else have stories about back-to-back scores?
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy

Hi Coach,

A couple of years ago I had some free play at Harrah's Chester. So I went up after work and a few hands in was dealt two kings. I proceeded to catch the other two for quads.
The very next deal was two kings again. Same two spots but different suits. Sure enough, I drew the other two kings for back to back quad kings. I was prepared to sit there all night long if it turned out the machine was stuck on quad kings, but of course it was not!

Two weeks ago a Mt. Airy on their dollar full pay JOB I had four sevens, then two hands later was deal two sevens and drew the other two.

Good luck with the doctors this week!

Rusty and Kathy

Twice, I've hit a 4 of a kind of the same denomination back to back on
a single line machine. But what will stand out to me, and I'll
probably never approach again, is that I hit 2 royals 9 days apart,
holding the same 3 cards in the same sequence and drew the other 2
cards, also in the same sequence. I hit no royals in between them. I
posted pictures of them.

Good Afternoon

While I realize this is poker forum we have had few hits that was unique on slots. Harrahs Joliet when it was still a active Riverboat my wife was playing $1.00 3 coin Double Diamond and hit a for $2500 on three diamonds. When you hit a Jackpot they would come and get your information and reset the machine and then allow you to play it while they was getting your jackpot money. Before they could get back to pay her for her first jackpot she hit for the three diamonds again for $2500. Also at that time we would both play my card to maintain our Diamond Status and with the second jackpot they gave us a hard time using the same card, they actually went and got her a card in her name before they would pay her. Lake Tahoe Harrahs we were flown there for the 2000 July 4 Fireworks and could win nothing in the casino for two days she finally inserted $20.00 into a 5 times pay and hit for the three fives for $10,000 and exactly one month later in Vegas and hit again $10,000 while waiting for me to go to a Slot Tournament where I won a cruise to Alaska she had inserted another $20.00 into another 5 times pay. She used to pay video poker and only had one Royal dealt to her on the old white glove poker machine playing 9/6 at Harrahs in Vegas back in the late 1990's.

Thank you for sharing your stories Coach I always enjoy reading your posts and remembering the good times.

I have had two back to back quads that I remember. Four queens on the $1 Jacks at the Fiesta and four aces on the $2 10/7 DB at the Palms.

One play that stands out was two dealt royals in the same suit (spades) on $2 8/5 BP at the Silverton on the same machine 59 minutes apart (according to the time stamp on the W2-Gs).

The place: MGM Grand, Las Vegas

The date: June, 1997

Background: I had been playing video poker for about a year, practising with VPTUTOR on my 286 MS-Dos home computer. I had 3 royals under my belt in the first year (2 for nickels, one for quarters).

June 22 I had hit a quarter royal (number 4) at the Grand.

We were flying home the 23rd. Since I had several hundred dollars of winnings in my jeans, I made the momentous decision, for me, to try $1 poker for the first time.

My plan was to insert $100, play it through once, and see what happened.

I found a bank of 16 slant-tops offering $1 5-8 Bonus poker.. There were 3 or 4 others at that bank, all down at the far end. I took the last machine at the other end.

- Put my benjie in the machine.

- proceeded to LOSE every one of the first 11 hands. I was horrified. That $55 would have lasted me all day at nickel 7-10 double bonus (which was widely available in the day).

- I pushed the 12th hand. Things are looking up.

- I then drew 2 to the royal on the 13th hand. QJA - kt

The 13th hand of dollars in my life! $4,000.

Here's why this story is relevant to the thread. When the attendant came to do the hand-pay, his first words were "I just paid a royal on that machine 10 minutes ago. The player took the money and left."

Very early in my V.P. career, I learned an important lesson - ie - the machines have no memory. This machine paid 2 royals in 14 hands (maybe 15 hands if they made him play off the first royal).

Many superstitious players seem to feel that they must leave a machine after a good win, believing that it's programmed not to pay out again for a long while. It just ain't so.

Sorry about all that junk at the bottom

I made an accidental keystroke that apparently brought it all into my mail

A few years ago, playing single line NSU deuces at the Southpoint, I had three natural quads back to back to back. Three in a row is really unlikely, but the way it went was downright weird.

Hand one, I was dealt a pair of eights, and drew the other two for a natural quad. Hand two, I was dealt a pair of fours, and, again, drew the other two for another natural quad. Hand three, I was dealt a pair of deuces, and as I hit the draw button, I thought: "I can't possibly hit again", but, unbelievably, I did hit the four deuces!

Quads three hands in a row, each time drawing to a pair, with the progression from eights to fours to twos. Could it have been much more weird?

I hope that Harry Porter doesn't mind me sharing this story. Years ago, when I was a newbie VP player, he had clued me in to the lone 10/7 DB at Trump Plaza. While he had put in many hours, and had some good runs, he had yet to hit the RF. I believe that he had been through multiple royal cycles, so this was becoming a bit of a quest.

One evening, I had just started what was planned to be a short session, when a real jerk sat next to me, clearly wanting that machine. He did all that he could to run me off - crowding me, elbowing, lighting a stinky cigar, pounding the machine....

Of course, that put me into "camp out" mode. I settled in and did my best to ignore him. After about 45 minutes, I got my first RF on that machine. The jerk was livid, pounding his machine and stomping around as if I had stolen the royal from him.

As soon as the attendant paid me, and turned to walk off....I hit another royal after just one hand! Mr. Jerk became almost apoplectic, and stormed off in a huff.

Icing on the cake: after another hour, I hit a 3rd RF on that same machine! My only triple-header ever. The next morning, I hit my first $2 RF next door at Caesars....one of my best weekends ever! When I ran into Harry later, I was almost sorry to share my good luck story with him, but of course he was as gracious as could be.

Thanks for the flashback to 2003, nita  It stands as my most perverse play to date.

At the point I had introduced you to the "best" standing play in AC (the Trump Plaza $1 10/7), I had dumped $17k into it over the prior year (say $21k gross loss, offset by $4k in cb, etc.). Against my better judgement, I was beginning to have doubts about the fairness of that machine. Your triple hit restored my sensibilities and served as a bedrock example of just how volatile vp play can be.

That $18k represented the lion's share of my bankroll allocated to play at the time. Yet, I realized wins out of the 4 other AC casinos I was actively playing that year, for a net winning year overall.

Like others who have already posted, I have had same-rank quads back to back once, and two royals on a single-line machine about 15 minutes apart.

But the one that stands out in my mind wasn't really a "hit" at all. Playing a single-line machine, I was dealt a hand where the choices were a lone ace, AH unsuited, and a SF3-2. I made the hold, drew, and hit the deal button again. I got the exact same five cards in the exact same order - a one in 311,875,200 shot. I did a double take and made the same hold. The draw cards were different the second time. Neither hand's result was memorable.

I recently have a pair of 9's 3 hands in a row, followed by a 3 of a kind of 9's.
