Hi Gang:
Hedy and I flew in from Harrah's Laughlin today after a five-day free junket
from Newark.
Happily, our 2008 resurgence continued when we nailed our 23rd royal of the
year, a 2K hit while playing 50-cent 9/7 DB. We hit enough sets of aces and
other bonus quads (including my getting dealt aces on 50-play nickels ... but,
alas on 9/6 JOB) to allow us to show a decent profit for the trip.
Thanks to a number of tax-ticket royals, we currently are showing a profit
for the year (including cashback, of course!) after a disastrous 2007.
We once again immensely enjoyed our stay at Harrah's Laughlin, which is
quickly becoming one of our favorite HET stops in the country. We even took a
two-hour boat ride this time to Lake Havasu, Arizona, to see the London Bridge.
No biggie ... but it was something different and kept us out of the casino
for six hours!
We spent some fun time with our friends, Tom and Joan Schneider, who drove
up from Phoenix to join us, including a really nice meal at the Range
Steakhouse.
We also just booked another junket, this time to Tunica in October, and were
wondering if anyone could recommend a host to us that we could contact
before the trip. We've never been to Tunica and want to see what it's all about
and take a side trip to Memphis to see Graceland.
Any recommendations/info about this junket would be welcome.
