B Connected and daily average play

With Boyd's new B Connected card downtown at MSS/Cal/Fremont...

Does anyone know if this will affect how offers and comps are generated at MSS?

We've been going on the 'play all day long at MSS or don't play there
at all on that day' plan because they base our comps on the daily
average, not total coin-in. This has actually worked against them
because when we stay downtown for a week, we'd probably play more
there in total if we could drop in for an hour or two on the days
we're not staying there.

So will MSS stay on the 'daily average play' evaluation, or just look
at total coin in for a longer period???

I just returned from a Vegas trip where nearly all of my play was at
the Cal and Main Street Station. This was my first trip since the
switchover to the "B Connected" (BC) system. Based on how the
different BC levels are achieved, the old daily average requirement is
all but null and void. The three levels are ruby, sapphire, and
emerald. In order to advance from Ruby (initial level) to Sapphire
(middle level), one needs to accumulate between 30,000 and 199,999
"tier points" in a six month period for locals or a 12 month period
for non-locals. To achieve Emerald (highest level), one must
accumulate 200,000 or more points in the six months for locals or the
12 months for non-locals time period. It makes no difference if you
climb the tier ladder by playing fewer days with a high daily average
or by playing many days, but with a low daily average.

I guess I shouldn't say that the daily average requirement is null and
void. Discretionary comps are still issued and based on your level of
play. Thus, a higher daily coin-in average would merit better comps
during your trip. Marketing offers, however, are tied to your tier.
I'm not sure if there are different levels of offers within a given
tier, though. I guess we'll have to wait for some offers to come in
the mail and compare.

A couple of obsevations:
- Gold (GFB) and Silver (SFB) Cards are still being issued. So if you
were getting one of these cards pre-BC, you will (or should) be issued
them during BC. For now, at least. Now that your bonus points can be
used for food purchases, I wonder if d/t Boyd will do away with GFB
and SFB and only issue discretionary food comps.
- There was discussion (here?) that some VP at these properties issued
points at less than the one point per one dollar rate. I found that
to be true. $.25 and $1 Treasure Chest and 10/7 DB issued both tier
and bonus points at a $3/point rate. I didn't find any other games
that issued at that rate, although I didn't check the nickel-based
games to see if they issued points at less than a point per dollar.
- An Onyx level/tier was acknowledged to exist, but will not be
implemented by the d/t Boyd casinos at this time.
