My husband played quite a bit at both the LVH and the Stardust over the summer. When the Hilton changed over their program and both properties changed their inventories, he stopped playing at both.
Last Tuesday night, we came home to hear an automated message from "George" at the LVH. The message offered a free pair of tickets to Barry Manilow for last Wednesday or Thursday. We jumped on the offer and got tickets for Thursday night. (The show was a lot of fun, and Manilow is an excellent performer, even though his voice is starting to show strain. There was a 10 piece band, and 4 excellent back up singers. I'd recommend the show to anyone who has a good offer; I'm not sure I'd have been as happy if we had paid full price for the tickets.)
Wednesday night, we came home to another automated message. This one was from the Stardust and offered a buy-one-get one for BB King.
Now, we're waiting for Steve Wynn to call with his offer... (but we're not holding our breath)
Our take aways were that:
1. There's a new company in town offering automated phone-based marketing solicitations to players. Although we hate telemarketers, we view this as a good thing, since our scheudles usually give us enough flexibility to jump on a good offer.
2. The casinos miss him and want players to come back. We also view this as a good thing.
Did anyone else get these or similar calls? I'm curious.
