Any advice/suggestions would be awesome.

You could also try Hotwire.com...you won't know for sure which hotel it
is, but you can usually figure it out by looking at the # of stars and
the amenities.

Here's some info:

My wife and I will be at the Flamingo that weekend! I was lucky and
found a deal for $90/night! WOO HOO!

The SC must be feeling a little heat - I have an offer for 3 free nights. The best they have ever sent before was discounted or buy 2 get a 3rd free.

I may actually take them up on this one. According to the database they still have NSUD - are they bar tops?

How about food? In the good old days you could summon a floor person and ask for a meal - no points deducted. Has this returned? (not likely!)

Steve D.? John M? Should I take the plunge?!

Yep, the Suncoast still has tons of NSUD -- and at all the bars, too, at .25, .50, $1 and $2. As far as getting free food, though, forget it! Unless you're a real whale (80,000 a month), you can't even get a buffet. I was told I couldn't even get a pack of smokes for under 5000 a day. And I'm in there nearly every day -- I just don't play 5000 a day. Since Boyd took over, things have gotten a lot tighter.
If you're coming, I'm usually at the Sports Bar (facing north -- some of the machines on the other side of that bar have sticky and/or phantom buttons that management refuses to fix). Most nights there are plenty of seats -- Tuesday night I was the only one at that whole side of the bar -- at 10 PM!!
Don't forget they also have double points this month from Sunday noon through Friday noon (.6% cash or comps).

They have NSUD from $1 to $20 in the high limit area. I believe the
bartops also have NSUD up to $2.

They are past feeling the heat. My estimate is their business is off
by 30% since Red Rock opened. Too bad for them; they had plenty of
warning; perhaps it is just a coincidence that Boyd Gaming hit a 52
week low Thursday.

By the time you get here, the poker room should be open. They finally
removed the construction walls and voila, there it is. Pretty basic
room with some small plasma TV's, but it is better than nothing.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I ended up booking a room in the
Palace Tower at Caesars for $140/night for August 11-13th which I
thought was an awesome deal for the weekend.

Where did you find that deal?

I am in town for a big ASD trade show. that is a super price. The show
runs through the 13th and many vendors are there from the 11th on.

BTW, we just returned from a trip to Vegas and stayed at the Wynn, The special price rooms are on the lower floors overlooking the parking garage and construction. The room itself was great, just don't open the drapes.
