Atlantis Slot Point

Just curious if anyone has tried to monitor the accumulation of slot points at the Atlantis. I had not checked under the new system with multiple points, so I checked during 4X points recently.

My first session of 3 1/2 hours seemed to accumulate points accurately. but the next session of 2 hours earned points at 1/10th of that rate. I went to the slot club which gave me totally different numbers (much lower than hands played or coin in), although the ratio for the 2 sessions seemed to be accurate.

I recorded the number of points when I quit for the evening, but I had 700 points less when I began the day. It is possible that a buffet charge had been redeemed, although the slot club indicated that charge was redeemed the previous morning.

The slot club indicated I could check with my host, but I decided not to. I don't want to bring up my play on the radar screen; I visit Reno because of the games, room comps and earned comps at the Atlantis, rather than travel to Vegas. I also tried to get an explanation of the elimination of my old points when they changed their system and got nowhere. The explanations then were that nothing happened or were nonsense.

I guess one possible explanation is that the computer is not counting points in real time and has to adjust continuously, but that seems lame.

Atlantis knows what their best EV plays are, regardless of points.
Play mostly them , and win a couple grand, and you're on their shit list. But losers are welcome to all bennies.

I did a check about a year ago when Atlantis changed over to their new comp system. I found four different comp point accumulation numbers at four different areas in the casino. And I did not even check the 100% bank or the quarter 10/7 DB progressive bank.

Games in the tunnel accumulate points at the lowest rate. It seems that any machine that has penny or nickle denomination, accumulate points very slowly, even if you are playing quarters or more. The only way to really tell what your comp point accumulation is, is to run a set amount of money through a machine, and check your accumulation rate. The same machine in one location may accumulate points differently than the same machine in another area. You just have to do your own checking on whatever game you play in different areas.

As for your missing 700 points, I check my card right before I eat, and right after I eat, to verify the cost of the meal is correct. In approx 20 meals, I have never had any "missing" comp points. The slot club or a host should be able to tell you any points deducted from your account. Also keep in mind, if you and your spouse are on a combined account, meal point deductions take place on BOTH players cards. Almost, but not exactly, 50% each.

I appreciate your reply, however,

I only played the same game on one bank of machines so the rate of point accumulation should have beeen the same.

And I did check with the slot club which told me the comp points had already been deducted well before the period of play when the 700 points were missing. Actually, as I previously posted, the slot club wasn't particularly helpful.

And I am the only one who uses my slot card.

I guess it's possible that the same game on the same bank could accumulate at different rates, although that also seems strange. I will look into that possibility.

This reminds me of my experiences at the Silver Legacy. I get a different rate of point accumulation on the same game and same machine at different times. Maybe my rate increased after a losing session? Who knows?

it may be that the system is similar to Harrahs Bonus Reward Credits where when you pass certain threshhold amounts the rate of earning increased. (I imagine they could also set it to decrease too.)

If that is the case, it has never happened to me. I play the same game at three different locations, and the point accumulation is always the same for me for every machine at each bank. The only difference on point accumulation being the daily multiplier. However, if you really think that the same machine gives out different point rates at different times, you should put that to the test. Either check the accumulation when you first sit down, or play for about 15 or 30 minutes, and check your point total. You should have some idea about how many hands you play in an hour, so you could check you accumulation every 30 minutes to see if there is any difference at different times of the day.

Everyone here would be very interested in what you find out. Their system is already hard enough to figure out with different areas earning different comp rates for the same game. Hopefully you can find some consistency somewhere in their casino!

Good luck

It could also be based on theo of your PLAYS. So, if you make good plays, it gives you less comp, then if you start making worse plays, it gives you better comp? (Doubtful, but just a shot in the dark)

I've clocked the machines at ATL on at least five different visits since the new comp system was put into place.

Comp accrual has been unchanged on the machines I play from the first visit of the new system until my most recent visit about a month ago.

The lowest accrual machines aren't the 100plays in the alcove near the slot club. There are higher EV machines with lower accruals. That said, there are some high EV machines with very good comp accrual...
