We have confirmation that the mini jackpots do in fact hit on Atlantis' new "Instant Fortune" promotion (their version of the Stations casinos Jumbo Jackpots). We managed to hit one for $19.32 (which actually added $20 to our Xtra Play).
Apparently it doesn't hit often, as we didn't know what happened when it hit. We were playing away, and all of the sudden none of the buttons on the machine would do anything. The machine was between hands, but it wasn't flashing "Play 5 coins" across the center, or lighting up the touch screen areas for "Deal" or other button functions. The service light button did work, and we called a slot attendant over and he banged on the machine a couple times (which we had done too, machine closure is the usual symptom here), and the buttons still weren't doing anything, and he said he'd call a tech over while he was dealing with someone else's problem.
Then we noticed the slot club screen said we'd won a jackpot of $19.32, and we needed to touch a button on the screen to add it to our Xtra Play. When we did this, of course, the machine started working fine again, and we told the slot attendant what we'd found out. He'd never seen one of the mini jackpots before, so for a while it looks like they will create a lot of confusion until people get used to them and the staff there knows what's going on when someone hits one.
