You don't have to be a guest to use the Concierge lounge. If you're a
Diamond card or better (I believe Platinum also qualifies), you can get a key
from VIP. I use this frequently when in town because all I want is access to
one of the 2 computers they have. It's a better privilege than Harrah's
Diamond lounge since these computers have printers & the lounge always has
food, newspapers, food, several TVs & one of the best views of both the
mountains & airport. They have a card with tier level benefits which is available
at both the slot desk & VIP.
Re charges for drinks, I can understand why they do it. During 4th of July,
there was a national girls volleyball tournament at the convention center
& the lounge was full of teenagers who wouldn't qualify for free drinks
downstairs.
Atlantis also changed their system a while back from "don't ask, won't
tell" to one where you can access your account status & see what your current
status tier level or comp status is. Before you could only get tier level
info. However, with this change, some people have said that the comp return
is worse than before. Could be, but at least you know what you have to
spend. Before, I had a lot of comp points expire unused. Eldorado & Silver
Legacy send out a letter about a month or two beforehand & state the amount but
I think they're the only ones to do it.

Question re the Atlantis concierge lounge - do you have to show a room
key for access or sign in? I stayed in one of those rooms when they first
opened up the concierge section and used the lounge in the a.m. but that
was a few years ago and I can't recall. Do they allow you to bring in guests?

The Concierge Tower has its own elevator, which looks a bit like half
of a gas fired balloon. It is a fun ride up and down the outside of the
building.
The concierge floors are 21 to 27. In order to access one of those
floors, you must insert your plastic room key in a designated slot in
the elevator. O/W, the elevator will only take you as far as the 20th
floor.
The lounge is on the 25th floor. You do not have to show a key, but on
the first day of your visit, the concierge will ask for your room number.
He/She writes it down in a log, and usually remembers you after that.
If there is a staff change, you will be asked again.
You are allowed to bring a guest or two, as long as you acompany them to
the lounge. I imagine that they would frown on it and perhaps refuse entry,
if you tried to bring more than one or guests.
The CL hours are 6:30 to 10:00 am, when a generous Continental breakfast
is served. The lounge re-opens 3:30 pm for beverages, fruit and pastries.
For some really dumb reason, the lounge charged for beverages other than
coffee, tea, water and juices. They even charge $2.25 for a Coke. The
food is free
