Atlantis comped rooms

"I'm assuming that calling a host of a casino you've never been to isn't
going to do much good in advance? I do suppose it wouldn't hurt to call. I'm
on the East Coast and established so what I usually do is play and wait for
the offers. In this case offers will be useless to me."

You may be pleasantly surprised when you do call. With the economy being
what it is, we're finding that there are a number of hosts that are "willing
to take a chance" on us based on nothing more than what we tell them over
the phone. We are honest about our play level and status (RFB) and provide
names of places that we play and stay. I cannot think of one case where we
didn't at least get a suite comped up front and in many cases, F & B as
well.

If you don't like the first offer, wait for a different shift and try
again. Hosts are unique individuals and even though a property may have specific
criteria, there is generally a lot of latitude.

If you don't get any joy from this approach, turn the tables on them and
ask what kind of coin in or average bet is required in order to have what you
want taken care of. I prefer to do this in writing by email which gives
you a hard copy to take with you. If you meet your end of the bargain, they
should do what they say. If they try to get a bit squirrely, pull out the
email and show them what they committed to.

I despise the "let's make a deal" game or "charge it to your room and we'll
look at your play at the end of your stay". It's their house and they know
the rules. Just tell me what it takes to get what I want and if I do it,
give it to me with pleasure instead of having to grovel.

Good luck. Based on the coin in that you were describing, I'd agree with
A.P. and everything should be covered.
