I am planning my first trip to Reno and will (assuming I don't go broke!) be cycling around $200,000 through the hundred play nickel JOB machines.
My question is on room comps. If I pay for my room in advance from the hotel directly instead of a discounter like Expedia can I use any comps I have earned towards my hotel bill and if so what is the procedure to do this at Atlantis? Otherwise I guess I will just have to bust out my comps on room service and gourmet meals. Keep in mind I am going to be working in Europe for the next 3 years so mail offers and "welfare checks" will be useless for me.
Atlantis comped rooms
Is there a reason why you wouldn't call a casino host in advance and ask for a (compable) casino rate?
Unless you're susceptible to bankroll swings, there are better choices at ATL to run your 200k thru... sniff around while you're there and you'll find something interesting.

I'm assuming that calling a host of a casino you've never been to isn't going to do much good in advance? I do suppose it wouldn't hurt to call. I'm on the East Coast and established so what I usually do is play and wait for the offers. In this case offers will be useless to me.
As far as the games-I am only interested in 50 play or more in nickels and the games I see other than JOB are those with both a higher variance and strategies I am not familiar with.

Why would you make that assumption? I cold call a host at pretty much every virgin property prior to my arrival.

Yeah, on a second look those Super Double and Bonus Deluxe games look pretty damn sweet! What you give up on the 2 pair is more than made up for by the 4 of a kind bonuses.
The other 2 games, Triple Double and Royal Aces are just plain ugly games in terms of variance.
Thanks for the suggestion!
