Atlantic City

Re-opening is tougher than it looks.

First is bringing back staff.

Second is auditing/counting cash on hand to meet regularly/audit requirements. Not an easy job with the amount of cash on hand and the size of the Atlantic City casinos.

Third, is just the regular routine of bringing a business back up to speed.

Why would it take that long? I am hoping the budget problem will beresolved by end of tomorrow; not just for the effect it has on AC, butthe effect it has over so much of the NJ population, on a variety ofmatters.I am "betting" on Friday! We mere mortals play VP for fun; Bob makes the cards dance to his tune!- A Myth--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, BANDSTAND54@... wrote:>> Howdy>>> The AC Casino gaming is on HOLD. The bright(!) side of this is that it gives the Casinos some
experience in shutting down, and resurrecting operations, faster and
better, next time something like this happens!

When I go to Harrahs.Com and their AC location of Showboat, the opening
screen says:

Welcome to Showboat Atlantic City!

New Jersey Casino Commission has required all Atlantic City properties
to cease gaming operations .....Click here to read more!

The music is jumping, slots are pumping and the party has just begun.
Showboat - The Mardi Gras Casino invites you to experience a world-class
entertainment destination.

I hear that Conneticut Casinos are reaping the benefit, but I have a
feeling that this weekend, if AC Casinos open, there will be a mad rush
to find a free machine. And lose money fast!

I hope the Casinos are getting ready for that.

For years they did just that every day when they closed from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. It's like second nature to them.
