Hi gang,
My wife and I frequent AC a lot since we live in CT and its
only three hrs away . Also my brother is a Food & Beverage manager
for Bally's/Harrahs. We go once or twice a month. Harrahs which is
down at the end of the boardwalk which you cannot get to by walking ,
you must drive or shuttle , has just open a new buffet that my
brother has been helping run . He says it is the best in AC , and he
is being impartial since he has to know what the other casinos have .
We have eaten at almost every one and we have found the Showboat
buffett and the Virginia City buffett at Bally's Wild Wild West are
about the best. The Tropicana has been totally remodeled and they
have food courts , restaurants, and malls . Also a Hooters, which has
the breast wings around , ( sorry about the pun ). The Boardwalk all
4 1/2 miles of it has numerous food outlets, pizza stands , hot dog
stands etc. One of our favorite little places to grab a quick bite
while we are out walking the boardwalk is The Irish Pub on St. James
Street. Great soup /salad/sandwich/ bar , very inexpensive and open
24/7. It is sports oriented and non-smoking. Its about 20 yards off
the boardwalk. All the streets run off the boroadwalk . If you want
some nicer restaurants almost every casino has one . The Casa de
Napoli at the Showboat is nice for Italian Food. Arturos Steakhouse
at Ballys is fancy, dress code required. We suggest you go online and
Search the Atlantic City Boardwalk and it will show you a map of the
boardwalk and the casinos. Also if you go in the summer , be prepared
to pay a lot for a room . Some casinos get $400.00 - $700.00 a night
for weekends and they don't usually split the fri- say nites. They
have also build new Tiki Bars right on the Atlantic Ocean beach ,
they offer live bands , dancing, food and exotic drinks . You walk
right to them from the boardwalk . The one bally's just built is the
" Bally's Bikini Beach Bar " need I say more . It is about as nice as
it can get sitting there on a august night with the breeze off the
Atlanic , great band playing , sipping a cocktail just brought to me
by a waitress in a bikini . The younger crowd seems to like the new
MGM Borgata , but you have to drive to that also,it is not on the
boardwalk . It is high end with lots of bars , discos catering to the
20-30 age bracket. They have just closed the Sands and will be
tearing it down and building a new one by 2010 , I think. If you have
any more questions feel free to reply or email us direct .
