Competition is clearly an issue, but I think the key problem is that people have just tightened up.
We made a long swing Saturday through Borgata, Resorts and Taj. I wouldn't deem the volume of players on any of the floors disappointing.
But it's my guess that people aren't willing to drop the bucks they once were, and that this represents a frugality that people may be slow to shake even as the economy improves.

Atlantic City does not treat visitors well.

Practically all aspects. The parking charge, of course, is No. 1. Then come ridiculous waiting lines, even at off hours, for things like dining and hotel check-in. Then come the high minimums and the sneering attitudes. Those are just a couple of my most un-favorite things. But AC in general doesn't care. And the usual customers reciprocate that feeling. Next, want to discuss shootings and kidnappings like those at Bally's and the Taj?
