Assault and retaliation

Why don't you ultra right conservatives take your gun crap to another site?
Personally, I'd like to give poor old Bambi an AK47 for a day and see how you
gun nuts like it
This is a VP site and these off topic political topics diminish the site.
And, hey Bill, can you ever let someone get the last word without continuing
every off topic thread? I didn't think so.

Carlos, I don't know if you're just joking, or if you are also one of

grain of truth to that, meaning that it might be possible to shoot lots
and lots of deer just because a person has an SKS ...

Hypocrite! If you really think this off-topic thread should stop, then why not just so say without throwing fuel on the fire by adding your liberal 2-cents? I already ignored the last long post on this, so you can kiss my backside. Now it's time to get back to the really interesting stuff like that god-awfully long thread on smoking, and other vital vp info like the new machines that are somehow rigged, post 9/11. LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR DELETE BUTTON!!! I already skip more than half the posts on this group. But you are correct that it is off-topic, so I'll have nothing further to do with that thread. But by the same token, there is a considerable amount of other stuff that is off-topic ... or very marginal, at best ... and you never hear me belly-aching about it. I think the problem is you don't agree with my point of view.

Bill

Of course you are right Joel, but you should understand that some people have an opinon on everything and the need to express it. Thank goodness for the delete key. Russ

I prefer that vpFREE be self-moderated via restraint,
politeness and juducial use of the delete key, but it
appears that more moderating is necessary also.

In the future, I plan to give off-topic discussions less
leeway than in the past.

Given that the headings on the posts are honest, can't people simply
choose to NOT READ those posts that don't interest them?

The fact that several "off-topic" posts have nonetheless generated
many responses indicates that those are subjects that people are
interested in discussing. Why squelch that? Just because a few
people have carped about the non-VP posts? Don't we precede the post
headings with "XVP:" and include an honest subject heading, so that
those VP purists won't suffer from being exposed to these non-VP
discussions? Isn't that enough???

Perhaps Kevin should start his own message group, waste his own
time, write his own propoganda, have his own thought police wars,
etc.

I, for one, am grateful someone took the time to build this message
group and put in place rules I can live with.
