Don't be silly, John. As we've all learned yesterday, nothing could be
further from the truth.

right...it is the small team that comes in and takes over the
machine that doesn't allow the general public on the machine...1st
having a small group constantly playing draws management
attention...2nd it doesn't allow the amateurs to play and actually
lose to allow the machines to make sense to the casino...
have any similar machines appear at the ac boulder property???

Ummm.... I think that ezfromnwon may have been joking (you know, humor via sarcasm). There's nothing like hitting management over the head with a wheelbarrel to tell them that they're being taken by a bunch of players to get instant results. Anyone who doesn't think that casino management reads (or have people who read and then tell them what's being said on) this board is being naive.

Of course, you are right too... the teams of pros need to let the regular folk in to play every once in a while -- so we can make mistakes and show management that it's ok to have full pay games since they don't all get played perfectly.

Right, ezfromnwon is friend of mine and fond of kidding me; he was being sarcastic.

While this issue has been debated for about a decade now, I'm pretty sure that posting $1 FPDW is a death sentence to the game. Sometimes it's because, as Lainie says, that it tips off management. Sometimes, it alerts each and every advantage player in town, the machines are constantly in play, losing the casino money, and management eventually pulls the plug. Either way, the play dies. Posting on the internet does NOT bring in unknowledgeable players; they aren't in this forum. It's possible to that posting in a magazine might draw in these "desirable" players, but by the time it reaches print, a month has gone by and the play is long dead.

I concur that posting a dollar FPDW play is

inadvisable, as it

will

likely kill the play.

WOW. REALLY? SO WHY PUT OUT THOSE TYPE OF MACHINES AT
ALL?
SO IT IS GUARRANTEE THAT THE CASINOS WILL LOSE MONEY ALWAYS!

As discussed previously (many times through the years), casinos put in plays like this either because:

1) They can generate tons of free publicity (eg, the Wynn)
2) They made a bonehead mistake

Take your pick. In the case of ACD, I'm leaning toward the latter.
