I suggest anyone interested in staying at Aria to disregard whatever you received in the mail and instead contact your host directly to make the reservation. Simply ask, "What can you do for me at Aria?".
By host I mean your host at any MGM-Mirage property, or you can call Aria and get a host there. Personally, I like to choose my hosts and don't want to give a trip to whoever answers the phone at Aria. You may not be able to get rid of them later. But, switching hosts is a topic for another forum.
By using this method of calling your host your stay will include at least what you saw in your mail offer and could even be improved. My invitation said room comp only, but a call to a host added "limited" food and beverage. At some properties that's a fixed dollar amount per day. But my experience at other MGM-Mirage properties suggests it would be all "casual" meals comped (meaning buffets, coffee shop and "reasonable" room service) with any gourmet dining charges reviewed at checkout.
As for VP, my best guess is that you should expect Aria to be no better than Bellagio. That means pricey full-pay games and next-to-nothing at $1 or lower. But, as with all new properties, there should be some "bargains" in the opening weeks. Get them while the getting is good, and hopefully let us all know at least some of what you discover.
