Six weeks ago I drove to Blue Diamond and rented a mountain bike and spent
a couple of hours riding the desert trails there - that was a great workout
that I will repeat.

Where is Blue Diamond? Sounds like a good idea.

Blue Diamond is a few miles from Red Rock Canyon visitors center - I guess it is actually in Red Rock.

All I did was "google" mountain bike Las Vegas and came up with quite a bit if stuff. I rented from McGhies Bike outpost in Blue Diamond - you are right at the trailhead at the shop - very handy.

I rode it alone with no problem - I was only out there about 2 hours. The desert is fantastic out there - and there isn't much chance of getting lost as it lies between hiway 159 and 160.

Another outfit runs guided tours through the same trails - but it was $35 to reant and $110 for the tour so I just did it myself. The advantage to booking atour is they will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.

Go west on Charleston and you will pass Blue Diamond, about 15-20 miles
from the strip. Another route, possibly shorter, is to head south on I-
15 to the Pahrump/Blue Diamond exit. Take the exit and go west 5-10
miles (roughly) and you'll pass Blue Diamond.
