Aquarius Trip Report

Arrived 5/28 and left 6/2. On our way from Vegas stopped at Searthlight Museum which is a couple of blocks east on Cottonwood at the town's library. A small museum with some great exhibits. Highly recommended as is the town cemetery on the other side of Cottonwood couple blocks down a new subdivision street. The subdivision has ~6 houses with many house lots available if one is interested. The cemetery also has room for more. One plaque said "Reserved for Jack Collins."

Also, found at their airport an entire subdivision with paved roads and utilities and not a house built.

Aquarius was very busy. California crowd came in droves. Lot's of families bringing in pillows and blankets and coolers.

The FPDB and the almost 100% DDB progressives were about $4300. The DB progressive was hit by a player that held two cards. He went to the DDB and brought down the 4A/kicker progressive as well.

We did fine without those messy W2's getting quads with kickers 6 times (twice dealt). In our continuing attempt to keep a low profile, put money through several slot machines. A $3 quick strike was left at $45 (must hit at $50) so plooped down and started feeding in bills.
Got a bonus round of 169 spins and won $1,142. Finished off the must hit at ~$49 and left happy puppies. Forgot to thank the hotel clerk that rented the room across the hall from us to 6 wild and crazy guys.

We did a 100 miles touring the area. Bought a gallon of water just in case as the temperature was almost 110 degrees. The ride through the black mountains in AZ was spectacular (as usual).

Drove back to Vegas via Nipton California. The ride through the Joshua Tree forest was great. The Nipton general store has been improved.
A lot of desert stuff and native crafts for sale. The areas is now called the Mohave National Preserve. The general store has an area with free maps and publications. Back in early 1900's, 600 families homesteaded (50 acres titled if stayed for 3 years). Didn't work out.

On I-15 at Primm there's 3 huge solar towers being built. Mirrors will focus solar on the towers and boil some chemical to turn a turbine. It was a Sunday afternoon and I15 heading to California was crazy busy.
