Aquarius and Motor Cycle River Run

I will be going to the Aquarius this weekend. They have a 2 day
video poker tournament. I was curious of why they would have a
tournament the same weekend as the River Run.

I received a call from my host, Dawn Rice, who wanted to know
that if I knew it was the same weekend of the run. I told
her that I did and that I was surprised that they were having
a tournament the same weekend.

She said that they do not cater to bikers and take precautions
to manage the crowd. She also said many locals think it is a good weekend to visit. We will see!

Actually I once stay in Laughlin the night before the start of the "run" just to experience a little of it. I still remember my "$100 River Run t-shirts". The Edgewater had a promotion that for a
certain (small) amount of points, you got a tee shirt. This was
when they still had a lot of playable VP. I decided to stay around
a little while that first morning to earn a souvenir tee-shirt.
Play went real smooth and I ended up with 3 T-shirts and $300
profit. Now I call each of the shirts my "$100 T-Shirt"

I will wear one of them this weekend! Are any of the members going
to be there this weekend?

Bob

That's funny your host said many locals think it is a good weekend to visit. Friends that are local think it is a good weekend to visit Sedona or stay locked up in their houses.

Please report as to whether or not Aquarius was overrun with non-traditional visitors.

I am sure there will be a lot of non traditional visitors in
Laughlin this weekend. I requested information about the
video poker tournament. Before booking it, the host called
to remind me it was the same weekend of the River Run. She
talked about why they were doing the tournament that weekend
and said they do not see too many of the bikers. We will see
about that! She also said the Aquarius does not really participate much and takes precaution to control the situation. Again, we
will see about that.

I had some unfinished business for April in Laughlin so this
was my best option. I also think it might be a little interesting
for my wife since she has never seen Laughlin during the "Run".

The last point she made was that the "River run" is much smaller
than a few years ago. Again, we will see. Maybe I we be the only
non bikers in town. Maybe that will give me a better chance at
a game of skill such as the VP tournament. We will see!

Have fun. Go to the Miss Laughlin River Run contest and report back to those of us that wish we were there!
