I think it was the coke that drove the property grab.
These hillbilly's are lucky it wasn't crack or
they'd be heading for a federal pen. I not so sure
big Chief Double Down is a bad guy here.

Interesting take. A suspicious white powder is not proof and is there anyone on this list that doesnt' take at least that much cash to a casino?

And why should you forfeit your car for a drug possession but not for taking a handicapped space? Taking that space might cause serious problems for a handicapped driver. Personally, I think that confiscation should be the standard penalty for illegally parking in a handicapped space. (And that includes the striped area which is part of the space).

I am not handicapped and do not have a placard. I also would never be able to bring myself to park in one of those spaces.

I think they ultimate pled to possession of a
dangerous substance. Doubt it was Tide or
dynamite. Also, exposes one of the less than
subtle racist elements of our criminal
justice system. Get caught with powder coke,
get probation. Get caught with crack goto
crossbar hotel. Lonnie and Reggie Ray are
lucky it's not chic in their circle to
smoke rock. This just cost them their
circus wagon of a car, not 5 years in some
State pen.

By the by, I was never defending the
taking, just noting that the car was likely
confiscated for the drug element of the case,
not the handicap parking. The parking
item was simply the pretext for the
search.
