I can tell you first hand ... I'm writing from our Encore room right
now
I'm sure I'll drop out a detailed trip report after our return home
tomorrow <sigh>, but in short Bev and I would have to reach pretty low
to come up for something to put on the "didn't like" side of the ledger.
As far as the hotel room, Encore is similar to Wynn in having a "hotel
within a hotel". The standard rooms are titled "Resort" and
"Panorama", where I believe the only difference is the floor level.
There is also a subset of "Tower" rooms. These have a separate
private check-in area and include all their larger suites along with a
standard room that's of comparable size to the Resort rooms.
We were confirmed in to a Resort room comp (checking in last night),
with no promises as to what we might receive given the residual NYE
peak crowd. At check-in I gushed about just how much a nice view
would mean to us. The desk agent smiled and scored a 56th floor room
for us overlooking the Strip (and just about anything else you might
imagine between us and the mountains

Wse're also staying there right now. It's pretty impressive. I'd stayed
at the Wynn before, this is well beyond that. The rooms are elegant, in
dark black & varied light ivories and tan. Solid hardwood doors, even
in the closets. Elegant carpets. Even the in-room booklets are
obviously done on premium linen paper, elegant texture. They must have
kept a small army of interior decorators busy for a long time.
