Anyone know about the changes in comps at Ramada Express?

Just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation.....

Have been a fully comped (room, food, beverage) for about 5 years
now. Just found out that they have changed their comp system. You
now get comp $ based on points accrued (just like the cash back
points). You need 1,000 points for $10 in comps to use at the
restaurants, etc.

By my calculations playing the same way I always have, I will lose
out on this new system. Generally earn about 5,000 points per trip.
That would work out to only $50 in food comps....huge decrease from
fully paid for meals for two day trip!!

Casino host claims it will be the same but no one there can explain
to me how based upon their math!

So, other than the free rooms and "special invites" I don't see much
reason to spend my $$ there anymore. Anyone know how easy it is to
get RFB at any other Laughlin casinos?

Thanks!!

If I remember correctly quarter VP was $10/pt-40 coin countdown. RE had
about 20 different combos of game/denominations in a published schedule, that is
not on the website anymore. I do remember going up in denomination actually
required more coin-in to earn a point.

So if you play quarter VP and earn 5000 points that equates to $50k coin-in.
A higher denomination would even increase the trip coin-in. I would hope any
casino on the river would take care of you for $25k+/day. Airplane rides
should be covered for this kind of action.

What is your favorite games? We can point them out in the other joints.
Azter is going to be sold to one of three suiters soon anyway...so RE is going to
be up for grabs.

So what is left to play across the street anyway? I quit visiting when the
last of the Piggys disappeared along with the one fullpay Cash King Checkers.

Thank you for your response.....I'm kind of embarrassed because I
really don't play that much VP (mostly slots) but your group was the
only one I could find that even discussed pay tables, coins in,
comps, etc. I actually found the information great.

I guess my 5,000 pts gets accrued quicker than for VP (that is a
really high threshold!). I looked at my previous year's gaming
report and in December ran $22K through and $18K through in November
(2 day trips each time). So, hopefully they are going to do
something to make it right because that is still a lot of coin
through!

Under the new system I'd barely be able to have 2 buffets a day (for
two)! Supposedly (after I called again and harrassed the host a bit
more) they are going to have some sort of "bonus" system that will be
applied to your next trip. This is supposed to be based on machine
type, length of play, etc. They haven't figured our their "formula"
yet (new system starts May 1st)!

I couldn't really fill you in on all the VP machines in Laughlin
since I barely leave the Ramada when I'm there....but next time I'll
definitely be going if this system doesn't work. I'll try to see
what's out there.
