4a. Anyone ever been lectured by the players club for "not playing"
Date: Thu Feb 26, 2009 10:06 am ((PST))I've been taking offers at the Golden Nugget for probably three years. For gift
card, free play,
and cash offers I've always booked just one night -- the full stay on
tournaments. I'd never
had a problem doing that booking through marketing OR through my host, Wanda. After Wanda retired, Cathy Bonnell took over as my host. I continued to book the
same way I
always have. A few months ago Cathy sent me an email stating that they've
noticed I'm only
booking one night on cash, FP, and GC offers and that they're offers are
designed for three
nights. She went on to say that I would have to put in 12 hours of play BEFORE
they would
give me the goodies with the offer from now on, even though I would sometimes
play 11 or
12 hours on the one day (and sometimes much less). I told her there was no way I
was going
to accept an offer under those terms. My mail from Golden Nugget has now
completely
stopped.Anyone else received this kind of warning from Golden Nugget?
Not the extremes you encountered. I used to play GN, even $5 and $10 machines, at one time. After retirement, reduced my play to $1. When FP $1 JoB disappeared, I didn't play anymore, but I did take a few free play offers, staying 1-2 nights, taking the free play on the $5 FP, and stopping when it was gone. After a few such stays, the offers stopped.
