Anyone ever been lectured by the players club for "not playing"

Forgive me if I am stating the obvious --- but I am new to the forum.? Mostly reading the last few months and then just a few posts.

Casinos don't care where you live --- they want the rooms used figuring you will?play more hours.?They can and do check the electronic card readers in terms of times you went into and out of room.? At least at Golden?Nugget.

I haven't been lectured, but I do know that my lack of play/stay was noticed.? I had an offer from Golden Nugget for free nights +$100 free play for 3 consecutive months.

I would check in, collect the $100 free play, use it, and then generally leave.? I didn't find any machines worth playing there.?I did that two consecutive months.?

When I tried to book the 3rd month through Casino Marketing, (don't play enough to have a Host at GN) I was told that the offer had been rescinded due to lack of play AND stay.? I told them I had stayed there and did play "some".? Their comment was that the "records" showed that I had checked in, but did not stay there and my play was too little to qualify for the proffered promotion for the 3rd month.? "What do you mean, didn't STAY?" -- "You never went into the room, card reader showed no entry" .....?

So now, I make sure when I have free rooms, I also go to room (in/out) a few times - mess up the bed, use the bathroom and then leave room to go back to whatever hotel is my real room.?? I fly in from the Midwest and usually time my visits so that I can take advantage of multiple offers across Vegas, or Reno - wherever I happen to be visiting.

So I might book overlapping free rooms at Venetian, Harrah's and Mirage collect each freebie or play in the tourneys offered but only really sleep at one of the locations.? Then I run back and forth checking in/out and giving some play at each place.? That keeps me with status at each place and then works well when I want to take guests with me.? I will book rooms for both of us and then give them the keys to one of the rooms with the understanding that they use my player card when playing at the property.

I know I am on the "edge" here, but so far, I guess I play enough that the offers keep coming without interruption.? Most of my play is at the Harrah's properties -- but I play live poker at Mirage and Bellagio.? I take breaks from the poker room and play VP.

Makes a lot of sense to me. The casinos are in it for "what's in it for
them". It's only fair that we players play for , "What's in it for
me?" At one time I played a lot at LVH. Stardust sent me an offer if
I stay there and play there. So I called and they booked a 3 niter. I
shot over to Dust and checked in. I went to room to make the room look
lived in. However, they set me up with a nice suite. In those days LVH
had suites. I didn't like them. However I liked smaller rooms near pool
called Lanai suites, if I remember right. Anyway, the rooms at the Dust
were much nicer than LVH and I changed home base that nite. In this
case, the Dust gave the promo and gained a customer for the last few
years till they blew it down. I also took them some slot customers
using joining room to bring them in. Then my host signed them up on
their own; thus helping the host. For me easy parking with my rent a
ride made Stardust a good home base. It was positioned in a good spot
for traveling between properties. I liked the Stardust.

Sometime the promo works. That's why the run them.

The Golden Nugget does have a bank or two of multi game machines close to the Experience side (quarters) with 8/5 JOB. There also is a DW progressive of Ugly deuces but often one of the lower pay progressives (SF, 5K , WRF) gets high enough to bring the machine above 99%. Also for the 4K progressive, escept at immediate reset you get at least 21 coins. Perhaps playing some of these along with a few hours of regular 3/2 blackjack if you can find a N/S table might keep you eligible at leats for a while. Lesser play for a trip or two is often ignored. The other suggestion is sleep for real at least one night of your stay there or if you take naps or ned to do some paperwork, etc use the GNG room for that and go to the soda machine in the hall a few times to show in and out.

I've been taking offers at the Golden Nugget for probably three years. For gift card, free play,
and cash offers I've always booked just one night -- the full stay on tournaments. I'd never
had a problem doing that booking through marketing OR through my host, Wanda.

After Wanda retired, Cathy Bonnell took over as my host. I continued to book the same way I
always have. A few months ago Cathy sent me an email stating that they've noticed I'm only
booking one night on cash, FP, and GC offers and that they're offers are designed for three
nights. She went on to say that I would have to put in 12 hours of play BEFORE they would
give me the goodies with the offer from now on, even though I would sometimes play 11 or
12 hours on the one day (and sometimes much less). I told her there was no way I was going
to accept an offer under those terms. My mail from Golden Nugget has now completely
stopped.

Anyone else received this kind of warning from Golden Nugget?

Honestly, I think it's because over the course of 2008 I received $10,350 in free play, cash,
and gift cards from them and posted only a $161 loss after doing $450K coin in (actually
making me a winner). Hmmm... maybe I shouldn't have told them no after all!
