Anybody know of Odysseys still alive?

Does anybody know of anyplace in Nevada that still has these
machines? I particularly liked playing the bonusing games such as
the Treasure Vault, the pirate game and the fortune teller. The best
game (and the one I found most profitable/aggravating) was the poker
game where you played a horrible short-pay schedule but you
occasionally got to play one hand of draw poker against one of three
animated characters for an ever-growing side pot.

I remember seeing two banks of these at Silver Legacy in Reno some
time ago. I also remember them being at the Aladdin, Luxor, Hilton,
and MGM in Vegas, and I have a vague recollection of them being in
several spots in Laughlin. Anybody seen them recently?

I'd heard that the manufacturer wasn't supporting these machines any
more, which is what got them gradually replaced. Pity.

It has been around 10 months since we last visited Las Vegas but at
that time the Fremont had 6 or 8 Odyssey machines. Some were not in
very good shape; dark screens, slow processors, etc. I don't believe
they had Treasure Vault, only VP games. They may be long gone by now.
I do agree with you they are fun to play and I usually invested a 20
or so durning our stays at the Fremont.

There are five Odyssey machines at the New Frontier. I know they
offer Fort Knox, some Pirate slot game, Top Hat Blackjack, Double
Bonus and Double Double Bonus. At least one other game as well.

So you have not been out in awhile?

The last two I saw with just VP are in Laughlin at the Golden Nugget.
They were almost mono-chrome. Good Luck, those were fun.

In March there were Odysseys at Mandalay Bay with Hot Reels on them,
but I'm not sure what else, because Hot Reels was the game I was
looking for.

I don't know which games but I remember seeing many of them in the Mandalay
Bay properties -- Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur. The looked to be in
mint condition.

There was only one manufacturer of those oddly shaped screens and they
either went out of business or stopped making them. I believe they
were located in Italy.
