Any updates for Hooters and Tropicana Las Vegas?

It really IS true. How could it be on the corner if the Tropicana is there?

My friends you need to learn quickly and permantly that if you want good
VP you go OFF the Strip.
Palms, for one, has all the full pay machines you want. Including
multi-plays.
No car? Buy a daily bus pass and go to the Palms or Downtown.

Ok, then the MGM must be "off the strip" also, because the entrance to Hooters is directly S of the main entrance to the MGM...

Is this a Bill Clinton semantic conversation? It depends on what your
definition of 'on' is?

Sure there's the physical address of the strip and then there is what a
tourist would consider the strip. Hard Rock, Trop, and Hooters while not
the easiest walks are still walkable depending on what strip hotel you stay
at. Palace Station, Rio, and Palms are less so.

So right or wrong, "Strip" casino is often shorthand for tourists indicating
high-amenity, touristy Las Vegas destination walkable or easily reachable
from the strip.

Because there is a shuttle between Harrah's and Rio many tourists can add
that group of casinos around the Rio including the Palms as walkable because
they can get there for free with a little effort, albeit not the best
walking conditions.

Palace Station is definitely off strip and considered off strip to us
out-of-towners. You can see it from the strip, but it doesn't fall into the
Palms marketing/cache of still being a strip destination and it's certainly
not a downtown, old school casino. But for the video poker junkies, it's
still on the radar and still reachable with a cheapy cab ride or car rental
if again you're an out of towner and want the vacation and the high-EV VP.

So please bear in mind in the future that each of us has a slightly
different definition of what a strip property is. And that the net for that
definition is highly fungible depending on the situation.

I could extend the metaphor further by adding what conventioneers consider
the strip to be. Is the Strat, Riv, or Sahara considered "on the strip"?
But I think you see where this is going.

Elizabeth,

Highly entertaining!

It always depends on the definition. By the way I know the meaning of "fungible" but what is the definition of "net" in that sentence.

Another definition:

I believe starting from the sidewalk on Las Vegas Blvd you can get to a VP machine in Hooters much faster than Caesars.

As Vegas always should be, even if you're losing. Otherwise you're not
doing it right.

<It always depends on the definition. By the way I know the meaning of

"Net" as in fishing net. In this case, a poor mixed metaphor that could be
stretched to imply a physics-defying super-hero style net that would
highlight only the best VP plays in the 5mi radius around your current
position on the strip.
