Any progress on getting Rob on the comps forum?

Since thymos mavin thinks that Rob's participation on a broad
based forum is such a good idea, I expected (and so suggested)
that they would invite Rob to do so on their Comps forum, where
they have the wherewithal to make it happen.

Maybe Rob can tell us if there's any progress in this direction,
since I haven't seen any public announcements from thymos
mavin.

I haven't been involved in any discussion about a comps group. It's
doubtful that I'd get involved anyway since to me, comps of all kinds-
-including cash back/free stuff, etc.--are not at all a part of my
strategy and I don't always use a slot card. Comps to me are
something unexpected, and I maximize whatever I do receive. I, in
fact, chide people who feel a need to talk to casino hosts, and in
fact teach that far better comps are obtained via the marketing dept.
computers than anyone could ever receive via a face-to-face or
telecon with a host. But most people don't listen anyway, because
they have been brainwashed by certain 'gurus' into wanting to
feel 'special' by being recognized in the eyes of casino hosts. What
they're REALLY learning, however, is a sure fire method of biting off
the hand that feeds them.

I sensed the vp admin was itching for a protracted discussion, of
which this will not be.

First off, I wish Rob would join Casino Comps. I think the comp
perspective on his style of play would be quite informative for
everyone. To be 100% clear, Rob please join the Yahoo Group Casino
Comps, is link is provided at the bottom. BTW, Rob how do you get
marketing offers if you don't play with a card. Unless you only use a
card when you play at certain denominations. See, Rob would have a
wealth of information to share.

Second, I think it is quite insulting of the vpadmin to accuse Rob of
being a pariah, as if being cast out of vpfree shouldn't be worn as a
badge of honor.

Rob has an interesting approach to shifing the normal distribution of
returns from video poker games, without reference to long term
expected returns of the games. I would describe it as having
leptokurtosis with the median to the right of the mean. But enough
talk of third and fourth moments.

I would much rather hear about Rob's experience than Dancer's inane
rants about penalty cards that may effect returns 8 decimals out.
Anything Dancer has to say about video poker strategy is already
readily available to anyone with a computer, hence his presence on
any forum is completely superfluous. Yet the admin readily puts up
with Dancers rants, and unprovoked attacks on fellow vp writers, all
the while claiming no bias. BTW, I don't believe Dancer would not be
welcome on casino comps...too annoying.

I'll give it a try, on the up-front assumption that I can help people
understand what they're doing in the comp world, and not just read
that Jean Scott says to do this or that when all she's doing is
losing money and getting showered with gifts worth 1/10th as much.

Glad to see you have joined Casino Comps.

While there is some overlap with the membership of vpfree, my sense
is that the membership of casino comps visits casinos much less
frequently. My guess is that the average member flys to Las Vegas a
few times a year, and is looking for information so that they can get
the most amount of comps from the casino, while limiting their
lossess. Keep in mind most go to Las Vegas for FUN, not to make money.
