Thinking about the "old" days when one can play VP at a bar and see some great lounge acts.
Seems like there is very little entertainment left except for the big showrooms -
Heading back to Vegas in July and looking for some oldies music.
I usually stay on the strip - At MGM properties because they are good to me with rooms, meals and free play but all the music is gone and quite frankly those "dueling pianos" don't cut it...
any suggestions?

I cant think of any win-win ( i.e full pay vp and great bands ) in Vegas. In Reno the stage bars at Peppermill and Atlantis have NSUD in various Denoms.

With some of the worse bands ever! Karaoke sounds better.
Saw a band graveyard at the pepp on a mon nite that the lady singer so bad we actually ( all 5 of us) felt sorry for her. So sincere & enthusiatic but no talent.
The only applause the band got was from the bartender when she announced the band was going on a break.
