Thanks so much for your info on MS casinos. I called theGulfport tonight and
asked for a host. They asked for my connection card info and said they would
call Bally's in AC and get back to me. A few hour later, Jazz who was an
extremely helpful host called back. He explained the difference between the Oasis
Tower and the Casino tower as you did and offered an up front comp for the 5 nts
we'll be there.
Who knows, FP $1 5 play, FP $1 progressives, shorter flt, ocean location,
this could be an alternative to my 3-4 trips Las Vegas each year.

The Grand in Gulfport is a good place to stay if you have kids. It
has a really excellent pool area, and of course it has a "kids
quest", where I think the max. age is either 11 or 12. Note that
there are 2 hotels at the Grand. The Oasis is the newer hotel and is
closer to the pool area. The older hotel (don't know what it's
called) is closer to the casino.
