I'll be visiting my mom in Fla next month and plan to take a few
days for all
of us to take the short flt to the Bahamas. I'm considering either
the
Atlantis or Wyndham Crystal Palace.
I spoke with a host at the Atlantis. The rate on-line was $500 a
nt. He was
willing to offer me a Casino rate of $250 and doubted regardless of
my play (he
explained to me that VP had a low theo) that they would be able to
comp the
room.
I spoke with a host for the Crystal Palace. The rate on-line was
$200 nt.
She took my card numbers from a few hotels and said she would get
back to me.
She called me back in 5 minutes and agreed to comp the rm up front
for 3 nts and
change me a Casino rate of $85 for the other room. She also said
that based
on play they would pick up the 2nd room and meals. Sound like a
pretty good
deal.
Any info on whether there is anything playable at any of these
places and
feedback on staying at either hotel is appreciated.

We played at both Atlantis and Wyndham Nassau in 2004, and sadly,
there is no good video poker at either casino. The Wyndham is the
better of the two casinos for video poker, though some of their
machines are very old (they take coins only!).
The Atlantis is the much better property, on the scale of Bellagio or
Mandalay Bay. With that said, the Atlantis casino seems to
be 'tight', but is definitely worth a visit. I was disappointed with
the number of machines that were 'out of service'.
The Wyndham has ONE good NSUD game on a multi game machine (in
quarters) on the wall near the casino host office. You will have to
check the paytables because there were about 5 machines in a bank
along the wall and only one of them had NSUD. Happily, I hit a Royal
on that machine!
We also had received a casino rate on our hotel room (which was nice
enough) and upon checkout, they had comped our entire stay and food,
but not the taxes.
The Wyndham is a nice property, but no where close to being posh like
the Atlantis. Depending on what you want to spend, Wyndham should be
adequate. The pool was very nice. The beach was equally nice.
The local buses run right outside the Wyndham and will take you to
downtown Nassau for about a buck.
