Any active members here?

Hey Jon and Tom, good to hear from you. Nice to see some activity here. I
probably head up to Blackhawk/Central City about 1 weekend a month. Usually stay
at the Isle or Fortune Valley. Sometimes its just me and sometimes the Wife
comes along as well, we both play VP. We were there this last Friday, Sat and
Sunday. Played mostly 9/6 JOB at Ameristar and the Isle. I don't play much
JOB at Fortune Valley because of the lower pay tables there. Normally we play
quarters, every great once in a while dollars. However this last time we
checked out the Silverhawk and they had some Bonus Poker Nickel Progressives with
the royal paying almost a grand, so we played that for a while. When we
started we were by ourselves, but soon the machines were all full. We quit
playing when someone hit the Royal after about 3 hours of play.
I have Jean Scott's Frugal Video Poker on the computer here at home, I have
been practicing deuces wild and bonus poker to become a little more
versatile at some of the different games. I have been playing VP for a little over a
year now. Hit my first Royal about a year ago at the Canyon Casino in
Blackhawk, then went to Vegas last November and hit the Royal 3 more times in 3 days
on some progressive quarters, since then no more Royals...Good luck to you
all, maybe we can get this board to liven up a bit. Bobby

Hi Bobby,

When I go I usually go up alone. My wife hates the noise and the smoke. Sometimes I find a friend to go with me, or my daughter.
The best night I had was in Council Bluffs, IA when traveling agross the country. I was playing triple play quaters Duces Wild. I hit the Royal and cashed out a few minutes later. I went and cashed in my ticket. I decided to go back to the same machine. Twenty minutes later, I hit again, same machine. Played a little longer and cashed out. Then I just roamed the casino putting in $20, and taking out on positive side. Best night I ever had playing VP. In my years of playing VP, I have hit about 8 Royals, mostly on nickles.

Is there any decent VP at Fortune Valley? Fortune Valley used to have a one lonely quarter 9/6 machine. We used to stay there once in a while, but recently have been staying at the Isle of Capri. Usually we can get a Saturday night room for $99. We used to play a lot at Ameristar, but have focused on the Isle since they have a hotel.

We started playing when we started going up to the Opera a few years back. My wife plays nickle VP, penny slots, and, once in a great while, quarter VP. She says she always loses, so might as well play low denominations. Not sure that's going to work anymore, with the royal a couple weeks back. I play quarter VP, blackjack, and poker. I'd play craps, too, if our legislature would allow it. That's really my favorite game. We've been to Vegas a couple times. Never had much luck there, but Harrah's seems to love her and we can get rooms. We played a bunch as Caesars before Harrahs killed VP there.

We are in Cheyenne, better STP at the Lodge, vs. Capri, I played for
hours for $20
