Another Type of VP Game

At Red Rock today I saw a new game, to me anyway, called World Series
of Poker. It is near the bingo hall entrance.

It appears to be normal VP unless you make a Bonus Bet. I played Jacks
or Better (9/5), one of six game choices. If you have a winning hand,
and made a Bonus Bet (at least double the 5 coin bet) two new cards are
dealt. If one is an Ace the win is tripled. If both are Aces the win
is nine times the original bet. So, I suppose if you get a RF, plus
two Aces, the jackpot is nine times normal. If you don't get an Ace
(or two), but do get a pair of Jacks or Better, you go to the Big Bonus
round. I didn't get that lucky, but the Big Bonus round is billed as a
hand of Texas Hold-Em. Since I didn't get there, I can't explain how
that round works.

Actually a game that is almost one year old. There are also two
machines in Red Rock near the buffet entrance. Once you get to the
Bonus Round, you must beat a series of players in Texas Holdem. Beat
everyone (I think its nine in a row) and you win something like 3200
credits. There is also some huge Bad Beat Jackpot if you lose with a
great hand.

In the bonus round you hold or draw on your two cards to beat your opponents
hand. This goes on for several levels until you reach the top or you are
beaten. The Wizard has a page on strategy and ER for this game.
