Another Tachi Palace Update - Bar Tops

Just found this morning that they have added some new machines to the bar. I have thought for a long time that progressives and bars go together well. Finally, they have some progressives. One catch, though, they SUCK!

The old machines and paytables are still at the main bar, but the counter away from the bar has these new, I think they are All Star games. In other words, they have video poker, a tab for some slots, a tab for some keno, and Super Times Pay VP. All video poker tables are bad. I did not even put a quarter in to see whether the auto-hold is still on them. I was just disgusted. The progressive is on dollars only, and the best schedule is 8-5 JoB, which is typical of Tachi, although the other bar machines have 9-5 JoB. Other games are 8-5 Bonus Poker Deluxe. YECH! I mean, give us an 8-6 at least. And progress the quarter games too. But nope, they had to put 8-5 BPDlx on it. The next game is 8-5 Double Double. Wow! Just wow. And then the deuces come in at 1-2-3-4-4-9. They had to throw that 9 on there.

Look! There's two prevailing philosophies. You can butcher your cows and grind them up into hamburger meat. Or you can play soft music for your cows and milk them, forever and ever. Tachi's slot management seems to be of the Hamburger Theory. They either don't get it, or don't give a fk. They are clearly the worst in the area as far as video poker goes, with the exception of Mono Wind, which is even worse if you can imagine.

Somewhere inside of me I still have hope for Tachi. Because the place really is a nice casino. Very nice hotel, very nice facility, nice employees, good food. I'm rooting for them that some day they'll get a clue. Of course, the place is always packed, so what do I know.

Thank you for the report . Do casinos take suggestions Maybe
not. Because ,The reason they are packed is there are many people like me
until a friend opened my eyes I played in the dark w/o a clue that
play out percentage was different

Sorry, I meant 1-2-3-4-4-9-12, it's the TWELVE that's the killer.

I do know the slot manager can be approached, but I have not pursued the issue. The thing is, they are doing great so I figure why on Earth would they be interested in my opinion. In a place like Vegas there is intense competition within walking distance. But Tachi is the only game in town, essentially, for this part of the Valley. They don't need to change anything.

Regarding these new machines in the bar, perhaps I will contact someone and make a suggestion. It can't hurt. But this particular bar, if you've been there before, is their ONLY bar. Unless you get there in the morning, or after 2:00 a.m., you can't get a seat. And folks have to drink in the bar, they can't carry the drinks to the floor. So it's always packed. Surely those machines will show a profit no matter what game they install on them.

I want to say again, I don't really mean to rag on Tachi, because I LIKE the place. It's really a nice casino. But their video poker is tight, what can I say it's the truth. Video poker is much better over at Eagle Mountain and Table Mountain. Tachi is the nicer of all of them, though.

My guess is they all are cutting back ...even in Vegas ..we are going in March I
was checking out the tables on vpfree..lots of casinos are taking out games that
give the player an better edge,..the Palms took out all the good deuces
wild machines boo hoo
I have not gone to the casino's in Ca since my friend taught me to look at the
pay table.. Eagle Mtg is the closest one to us. We live in Bakersfield,do they
have any good vp machines?

So I looked at these machines last night. Each one was occupied. Of course, every player was playing keno. lol

Putting good VP at bars, especially your ONLY bar, is just
plain stupid.

Although most of the general public is pretty stupid, the
stupid quotient goes way up at the bars. Most folks at the
bar are hammered or getting there. This crowd is much more
oblivious to the pay-tables than average. You could call
it "degenerate central"

If you give these dummies good VP, they will just end up
tipping more to the bartender. Not bad for the employee,
but not good for the house. 99% of this crowd has "X"
amount to lose already in their mind. For these folks,
it probably is better to slaughter them rather than shear
them. The money is going to be lost, may as well do it
quickly and minimize the runoff to the help.

I hear what you're saying and agree with you for the most part. But I am not suggesting that the casino should put in full pay games at the bar, but I also do not think the worst possible pay tables is a good choice either. Something in the middle would be just right. Even drunk ploppies can feel when they are getting chewed up. As it stands, these machines are not getting a lot of play.
