I was at the Riverside last Monday, and for October they have a "beer"
promotion. Get a quad playing 25 cent or higher VP, max coin, and you
earn a six pack. The guy next to me said he had 20 cases, and won't
stop until he has a "winters worth" of Coors Lite. I guess one could
ask the same question as the Colorado Belle promotion ... what does
this add to the EV?

This 6-pack promo is the traditional autumn promo for the Riverside. This
year it is for Sept/Oct. You also can get soda pop or water but Coors six-packs
add the most value.

In my neck of the woods grocery stores will have sales on Coors in cases for
about $4.00 with tax a sixer, so that I what I value the promo. Any quad
playing quarters gets a ticket from the floorperson, which you then turn-in daily
at the slot club, to get vouchers good to collect sixers in the south-Tower
distribution center anytime through Halloween.

Your basic Jacks or Better COD adds .45%(5.9%/13) for 125 coins. This promo
if valued at $4.00 adds 16 coins per quad or 208 over the range or about 66%
stronger than a COD for about .75% added value.

I don't know what the discount rate is for the blackmarket for non-locals
getting on airplanes, but there must be some enterprising going on.

Combine this promo with the October month long "10s" 125 coin COD and you
have a nice premium play for quarter locals players.

The trouble is there is so little to play anymore at the Riverside. Nothing
playible in quarters in the south non-smoking casino.

Now the Pioneer used to do this kind of a promo a few years ago. They
physically brought the sixers to the machine. It was a unique sight with cases of
pop/beer piled high on top of machines. They finally wised-up about 1996 and
gave coupons and distrubuted sixers out of an air conditioned tent in the
parking lot. Pioneer has not done this one for while.

Golden Nugget used to give away real frozen turkeys, limit two, in November
too. One year you could get monster frozen apple pies with a mailed coupon. I
kind of miss these old goofy locals promos.
