I know, I know, Greektown Casino is not the most popular place to
play video poker here in Detroit. But it's the only place left that
has full-pay 25c Pick'Em. Windsor had'em and pulled'em. MGM had'em
and pulled'em. And I'm sure if Motor City had'em, they probably
would have pulled'em too. So, I play there every now and then,
because, despite the monotony of the game, I still enjoy playing it
once in a while.
Thursday I was there again and had one of those roller-coaster
bankroll days that can be fun.
I started out playing quarter Pick'Em and dropped $200. I went
next door to the poker room and played their lousy paying
Progressive Bonus Deuces. Ya, I know the pay scale stinks, (98.?%)
but it's fun to play. You have several ways to hit something big (
unlike its big brother NSUD-deuces wild-at Motor City) like:
1. The Royal at $1,000 plus.
2. The four Deuces with a Ace for $500.
3. The four Deuces for $250.
4. Five of a kinds ranging from $100 to $25.
I can see if I keep playing this game for fun, I'm going to fun
myself right into the poor house. (Do they still have poor houses?)
I lost another $100 at that game and had a hundred left of my
bankroll and decided to go out with a bang. I walked over to the
high-roller Parthenon Room and tried dollar Pick'Em. I got lucky and
hit a $90 Full House and a $75 Flush and cashed our $150 ahead.
That's a start.
I next headed back to the Game Maker Pick'Em room and along the
way kept popping twenties into slot machines and got ahead on three
out of four for another $75. I played quarter Pick'em for a while
and hit a quad and cashed out another $90. I then went back to the
dollar Pick'em and again along the way picked up another $60 on a
slot machine.(WHEEL OF FORTUNE!)At the "Big Boys" room, I won
another $175 on Pick'Em and was done for the day up $350. Whew, that
was exciting. Not really a lot of money involved, but still I had
fun.
You never know what adventures lie in store for you anytime you
set foot in a casino, and that's what I like about them.
PS: I also gained some more cash back money and food comps for
future considerations when I "really" need them.

up more dough."
